Exercise - Colours into tones in black and white

I am arranging different objects and background in order to have green, red, blue and yellow.
The photo was taken once and then processed in Photoshop CS3 by using different colour filter accordingly.

The original Colour

Default Black & White

This default blank & white - filterless produced rather bland in black & white. It is the least favourite of all.

Yellow filter
The yellow filter has produced the red ball, red ribbon and the tape measure rather stand out comparing to the filter-less version.

Red filter
The red filter has made the green background to rather disappear.

High Contrast Red filter

I tried using the high contrast filter which has produced a little more dark background.

Blue filter
This blue filter has made all the objects look dark but the blue pen stand out.
It's not one of my favourite.

High Contrast Blue filter
This filter has made everthing including the background except the pen seem so dark.

Green filter
This green filter has made the green background to go very light but the rest of the objects unchanged.

Summary:
Depending on the colour of objects and individual taste, using different colour filter does make different impact to an image by causing different in tonal and contrast.
